《朝侯小子残石》出土於陕西长安县, 出土时间一说为1911年，也有说1981年。
先后妇闫甘围、周进收藏，今藏故宫博物院。《朝侯小子残石》碑阳存十四行，行十五字，碑阴漫漶存十字。残石首行有“ 朝侯之小子”等字，故得名。残石年月无存，曾有人定为西汉刻石，但番其书法，是成熟的隶书风格，应是东汉时期的作品，字体秀美飘逸。笔法劲健。秦文锦评谕此残石说：“书体的《孔宙》、《史晨》之间，逊其浑厚而劲利过之。亦妙刻也” 。其笔划完好。在现存为数很多的汉代残石之中，《朝侯小子残石》的书法属於“ 上品”。 </P>
