<P> 全卷描写长江沿岸渔村初雪情景。天色清寒，苇业树林，江岸小桥，一片初白，寒风萧瑟，江水微波；渔人卫寒捕鱼，骑驴者缩瑟前进，表现出江南初冬渔民和旅行的生活情况，绘景画人均积传神。图中树石笔法老硬，水纹用笔尖劲流利，天空用白粉弹作小雪，表现出雪花的轻盈飞舞。
图前题“江行初雪，画院学生赵干状”，应是南唐后主李煜的笔迹。有宋宣和,金明昌，元天历，清乾隆，嘉庆诸印，以及柯九思，吴瑞 ，梁清标，安岐诸收藏印。
赵干，江宁人（今南京），南唐后主李煜时为画院学生。善画山水林木，长于布景，多作江南景物。画“楼观、舟船、水村、渔市、花竹，散为景趣，虽在朝市风埃间，一见便如江上。”（《宣和画谱》）

此图为赵斡仅有的传世作品。表现朔风凛冽、雪花飘飘的冬日江岸，渔夫们冒着严寒张网捕鱼的情景，全卷布置以芦苇、寒树、坡岸、板桥，渔民活动其间，或撑舟，或撒网，或于芦棚中避寒，或在船上炊食，江岸有骑驴之行旅，寒冷畏缩之状极为生动感人。画中树石笔法劲健，水纹用笔尖利，天空以粉弹出飞舞的雪花，技巧十分娴熟。是一幅流传有绪的中国绘画珍品。
赵斡，生卒年不详，江宁(今江苏南京)人，五代南唐画家。后主李煜时为画院学生。善画山水、林木，长于构图布局，所画皆为江南风景，多作楼观、舟船、水村、渔市、花竹，具有田野情趣。所作江行图，深得浩渺之意，见之使人如身临其境。
