张大千-----是具有世界影响的中国画大师。他在创作上的卓越成就，与他的渊博的学术修养，深厚的生活积累以及他广结师友，裁长补短密不可分。除绘画外，他对诗词、古文、戏剧、音乐以及书法、篆刻，无不涉猎。并先后与齐白石、徐悲鸿、黄宾虹、溥儒，于非厂等国内各名家及外国大师毕加索交游切磋，功力自不一般。
张大千名爰，又名季，季菱，字大千，别号大千居士，或迳署“蜀人张大千” 。生于1901年，卒于1984年，四川内江人。张大千幼年受擅长绘画的母亲和以画虎著称，自号“虎痴”的二哥张善子的熏陶指引，并从名师曾农髯、李梅庵学诗文、书法和绘画。除临摹历代名迹外，又遍游名山大川，以造化为师，经过刻苦钻研，获得了卓越的艺术成就。青年时代，即与二哥张善子齐名。二十多岁，曾赴日本留学，学过染织。回国后，一度迷于佛学，曾去宁波天童寺“皈依佛门”，想当和尚，据说，他怕在头上烫九个香记，只好拜别了师傅弘筏大和尚，回到现实世界来。1932年举家移居苏州网狮园,潜心作画。1940年后用了两年半的时间，对于我国敦煌洞窟，逐个整理编号，进行临摹，丰富了绘画技法。 1948年迁居香港，后又旅居印度、法国、巴西等国。1978年定居台湾,1984年4月病逝台湾。享年84岁。现在他生前台湾居住的“摩耶精舍”建为“张大千纪念馆”。
张大千是天才型画家，其创作达“包众体之长，兼南北二宗之富丽”，集文人画、作家画、宫廷画和民间艺术为一体。于中国画人物、山水、花鸟、鱼虫、走兽，工笔、无所不能，无一不精。诗文真率豪放，书法劲拔飘逸，外柔内刚，独具风采。张大千的画风，在早、中年时期主要以临古仿古居多，花费了一生大部的时间和心力，从清朝一直上溯到隋唐，逐一研究他们的作品，从临摹到仿作，进而到伪作。张大千的画风，先后曾经数度改变，晚年时历经探索，在57岁时自创泼彩画法，是在继承唐代王洽的泼墨画法的基础上，揉入西欧绘画的色光关系，而发展出来的一种山水画笔墨技法。可贵之处，是技法的变化始终能保持中国画的传统特色，创造出一种半抽象墨彩交辉的意境。
张大千30岁以前的画风可谓“清新俊逸”，50岁进于“瑰丽雄奇”,60岁以后达“苍深渊穆”之境，80岁后气质淳化，笔简墨淡，其独创泼墨山水，奇伟瑰丽，与天地融合。增强了意境的感染力和画幅的整体效果。
